HelloSign is an on-line service from DropBox. It allows you to e-sign many types of documents, including PDFs, MS Word Documents, and Images.
You can sign up for a free HelloSign account here. The free account can be used to sign 3 times per month (you can sign multiple files/pages each time).
To e-sign a document with HelloSign, follow these steps:
- Go to HelloSign.com and click on “Free trial”
- Enter your e-mail and click “Create an account” or connect a Google or Dropbox account instead.
- On the “Choose a plan” page scroll all the way to the bottom and click “Try our free plan”
- You will receive an email to confirm your HelloSign account; click the link “Confirm Email”
- You will be logged in and presented with the “What needs to be signed?” page
- Click “Upload file” to pick a file from your computer
- Or drag and drop the files you want to sign
- The uploaded files will be displayed
- Click “Next” to continue
- You will see the “Who needs to sign?” page
- If you are the only signer, click “I’m the only signer”
- If you need multiple people to sign, enter their name and email address (they will receive an email asking them to sign the document), then click “Next” to continue
- When presented with your document:
- Click the “Signature” button, then click anywhere in the document
- You can create a new signature by drawing, typing, or uploading an image
- Draw/Type your signature
- Click “Insert” to continue
- Drag and resize your signature as desired, then complete the rest of the form
- Use the buttons on the left, then click anywhere in the document to complete other fields in the form
- Click “Next” to continue
- The document is now signed and complete
- Click “Download document” to save and download the file
- If you want to email this document, enter an email address
- Click “Send Document” to send a link to the desired recipients (only a link is sent, not the file)
